FAQ

  • Is my child the correct age?
    SportsWeek is designed for children aged 5-12. Students who are 5 years of age MUST be currently enrolled in or have completed their kindergarten year. This is to ensure that they are old enough to appreciate the structure of the day and get the most out of the SportsWeek experience.
  • What do I need to bring?
    We will send you a full packing list in PDF form in the week prior to your SportsWeek start date but in general, your child will need food for the entire day. Every child will need to bring their own refillable water bottle as we have access to drinking water on site. Appropriate clothing for the weather is also essential with consideration for the climate including sunscreen, sunhats etc. Again, based on the weather forecast and your activity choices, we will have a full breakdown of everything you need in your email inbox in the week prior to your start date.
  • Does my child need any special equipment?
    No! At SportsWeek we have access to a range of top quality equipment and have everything we need to deliver some great sessions for your child!
  • Where do I drop my child off in the morning?
    Your child must be signed in and out every day at the SIGN IN desk by a parent or guardian. We will also be sending you our 'parent/guardian' guide with 1 week to go which includes a map of our drop off location and site.
  • Can my child be partnered with a friend?
    Of course! Remember that each SportsWeek is unique, so be sure to select the same sports as your friend when prompted via email after sign-up. After that, they will be together all week if you wish!
  • Can I change my sport choices during the week?
    Absolutely! We ask that you give us an indication of your child(ren)'s preferences but if they want to change activities they can do so between any of our sessions.
  • Can my child do the same activity morning and afternoon all week long?
    Absolutely! It is fun to try new things, but if you want your child to really master one activity then just select the same sport all week long!
  • What if something changes? Do you have a cancellation policy?
    Of course. We want to make signing up for SportsWeek easy - you can cancel for a full refund as long as it is within our time windows. To receive a full refund, you must cancel at least 30 days before your SportsWeek start date. Cancel between 14 and 30 days of your SportsWeek start date and you'll receive a 75% refund. Cancel between 7 and 14 days of your SportsWeek start date and you'll receive a 50% refund. Cancel fewer than 7 days before your SportsWeek start date and you'll receive a 25% refund. Please note that all refunds are subject to a $10 administration fee.
  • What happens if it is raining?
    SportsWeek will take place rain or shine! If it is raining we will make a game day decision with safety the number one priority. If team activities such as basketball, handball, and/or pickleball cannot run, the whole group will most likely take part in trail adventures. I am secretly hoping this happens as we have a really fun plan!
  • What if my child has specific learning or additional needs?
    At SportsWeek, our mission is to ensure that all young athletes have access to the SportsWeek experience. If you feel your young athlete(s) would need extra support during SportsWeek, please reach out to Matt at info@sportsweek.ca and we can talk about accommodating their needs.
